Electron microscopes can excite electrons to form images that magnify micron and nanostructures up to 10 million times, providing amazing levels of fine magnification and allowing researchers to observe even individual atoms. We offer JEOL JEM1400 that allow customers to combine high-resolution imaging with physical, elemental, chemical and electrical analysis to obtain usable data from the widest range of samples.
The microscope has a high contrast lens system optimal for viewing resin embedded specimen and can be operated up to 120 kV.
The Jeol is the main workhorse of the facility. The TemCam F416 allows stitching of indiviual small images to obtain overviews at high resolution. In addition to EM-Menu (TVIPS, Gauting, Germany) also SerialEM can be used to aquire images.
The microscope is 12 years old and it's original camera has been replaced with a bottom mount 4k by 4k pixel digital camera (TemCam F416; TVIPS, Gauting, Germany).
Loading of grids into the quick release holder of the microscope is fast and convenient.
