SEM is one of the most widely used analytical tools as it can quickly provide very detailed images. SEM provides elemental identification of almost the entire periodic table and is also adept at generating detailed images of surface topography. CD BioSciences offers Zeiss EVO-based scanning electron microscopy Imaging services available to assist customers in biological and materials research.
1. Zeiss EVO 50 SEM can be used for a range of imaging and analytical applications using either a W or LaB6 filament
2. Large area BSE detector ideal for imaging mineralogical and metallurgical samples
3. Oxford Instruments AZtec EDS system, with large area X-Max 80 mm2 silicon drift EDS detector
4. Fully automated analytical capability with particle detection ("Feature"), large area imaging and EDS map montaging
5. Ideal for automated detection of inclusions in steel, heavy minerals in rocks and particle classification in engineering applications
6. Multi sample stages (5 polished thin sections or 9 epoxy-mounted blocks)
