Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) provides high-resolution and high-depth-of-field images of the surface and near the surface of a sample. SEM is one of the most widely used analytical tools as it can quickly provide very detailed images. SEM provides elemental identification of almost the entire periodic table and is also adept at generating detailed images of surface topography. CD BioSciences offers Zeiss Gemini 360 FE-SEM-based scanning electron microscopy Imaging services available to assist customers in biological and materials research.
This SEM has a cross-over free Zeiss Gemini 1 column, and uses a low to moderate energy (0.02 to 30 keV) electron beam to image samples in high-vacuum with sub-nanometer resolution at 15 keV and 1.2 nm at 1 keV. Available detectors include In-lens SE; Everhart-Thornley detector; High Efficiency 6-segment Backscatter Detector; VPSE variable pressure detector. The Gemini 360 also includes standard variable pressure mode or improved NanoVP mode, permitting high resolution imaging under low vacuum.
The Gemini 360 Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FESEM) enables high resolution surface examination and analysis. An airlock chamber with integrated navigation camera enables rapid sample loading.
The Scanning Electron Microscopy Laboratory at CD BioSciences offers a wide range of high-end microscopy equipment. More importantly, our expertise and experience are invaluable to the industries and customers we serve. Please do not hesitate to contact us for cooperation or questions.
