CryoEM is a microscopy technique that applies a freeze-fixation technique to obtain the structure of biological macromolecules by using transmission electron microscopy to view samples at low temperatures. The sample is cryo-fixed and placed in an electron microscope where electrons are scattered in the sample and nearby ice. CD BioSciences uses a detector and lens system to image and record the scattered signals, which are then processed using 3D reconstruction techniques to obtain the 3D structure of the sample.
The Tecnai Spirit TEM is an easy to use 20 kV to 120 kV transmission electron microscope (TEM) designed to provide high-contrast, high-resolution imaging and analysis. Accelerating voltages ranging from 20 kV to 120 kV are ideal for light element biological matrices and provide the low voltage capability.
CD BioSciences offers its customers the CryoEM imaging service based on Tecnai Spirit TEM to help analyze the 3D structure and microstructure of samples. If you are interested, please feel free to contact us.
