CryoEM is a microscopy technique that applies a freeze-fixation technique to obtain the structure of biological macromolecules by using transmission electron microscopy to view samples at low temperatures. The sample is cryo-fixed and placed in an electron microscope where electrons are scattered in the sample and nearby ice. CD BioSciences uses a detector and lens system to image and record the scattered signals, which are then processed using 3D reconstruction techniques to obtain the 3D structure of the sample.
