The basic equipment of the stereomicroscope features relatively low total magnifications, wide object fields and large working distances between object and microscope front optics. The designation "V12" stands for a magnification of zoom optics variable by a factor of 12.5× and covering a magnification range from 0.8× to 10×. The pancratic magnification changer ensures high-contrast and focused images throughout the entire zoom range. Additionally, special preparation of specimens is not required for the stereomicroscope, which makes it suitable for the observation, manipulation and documentation of protein crystals.
The SteREO Discovery V.12 stereomicroscope is designed for 3D observation of small objects at simultaneous magnification. Besides visual observation, it provides diverse options of photomicrographic and video image documentation in connection with the fitted camera port.
