Summary

This system provides localized magnetic hyperthermia for cell ablation, drug release and cell activation. Magnetic particles or magnetically-labeled cells are injected into a mouse, and then radiofrequency pulses are used inside a magnetic field to heat the particles. The Momentum magnetic particle imaging system can be used to identify target locations, and then the animal can be moved to the HYPER for seamless treatment. Temperature is monitored in real time through a fiber optic system and two digital cameras are used for positioning.
