Magnetic Resonance Imaging Service—Bruker 600 MHz Wide-Bore Spectrometer and MRI Scanner

Preclinical magnetic resonance imaging has greatly advanced all aspects of basic research, disease and therapeutic studies. Non-invasive in vivo imaging of small animals and rodents provides structural and functional information with extremely high spatial and temporal resolution. CD BioSciences offers a wide selection of instruments designed to perfectly meet the needs of scientists for research equipment.

Introduction

The Solid-State NMR is a vital tool at RPI and is being used to quantify, characterize, and further develop novel materials, devices, and molecular systems, including synthesis and assembly of molecular systems at the interface of biology and nanotechnology, diabetes related changes in bone structure at atomic resolution, functionalized polymers, structural studies of membrane proteins (constitute over 30% of all eukaryotic proteins, but < 0.5% of known protein structures) and insoluble and plaque forming protein aggregates such as those involved in Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases.
Microimaging/MRS provide exceptional sensitivity for imaging and MRS (spatial resolved NMR spectroscopy) studies of organs, tissue samples, and materials approaching μm range resolution for many resonator/gradient combinations (far exceeding resolution limits achievable by standard horizontal bore imaging systems).

Summary

The Avance III 600MHz/14T widebore instrument is well equipped for performing solid-state NMR, MRI, and diffusion studies. For solid-state NMR, high power RF and gradient amplifiers, magic angle spinning unit, and multiple accessories for operation over a wide temperature range including very low temperatures are available. Probes options include
1. 4 mm HXY MAS solids probe, where X and Y are broad band tunable RF channels
2. 3.2 mm E-free H,C,N/P MAS probe, optimized to greatly reduce sample heating of biomaterials and has an RF channel that is switchable between 15N and 31P
3. 5 mm TBI HCXD (where X is broadband tunable) solution probe with triple axis gradients
4. 5 mm TXI HCND probe with triple axis gradients
5. 15 and 25 mm volume TR coils, animal handling unit, inhaled anesthesia, and biometric monitoring/triggering equipment for microMRI applications

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a medical imaging technique that uses magnetic fields and computer-generated radio waves to create detailed images of organs and tissues. CD BioSciences offers a Bruker 600 MHz Wide-Bore Spectrometer and MRI Scanner-based MRI service. Please contact us directly if you have a request.
