CD BioSciences' chemical and biomolecular analysis laboratories have a wide range of instruments including high-field nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS), gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and more. Based on these instruments, we can monitor chemical reactions and protein stability, determine molecular structures, obtain purity (including trace metal content), or study other properties of various materials.
Hydrogen/Deuterium eXchange followed by Mass Spectrometry (HDX-MS) is a powerful and recognized biophysical tool in structural biology capable of probing protein/ligand interactions, conformational changes, and protein folding and dynamics (Figure 2) . HDX-MS measures the changes in mass imposed by the replacement of backbone amide hydrogens by deuterium added in excess in the surrounding environment. The rate of exchange relies on the folding and dynamics of proteins making backbone amide hydrogens excellent structural probes.
The platform is equipped with the latest generation of HDX-MS instrumentation from Waters Corporation composed of a Synapt G2-Si HDMS mass spectrometer with ETD, an ACQUITY UPLC M-Class system with HDX technology, and a LEAP-Pal robot for automated sample handling.
