Biomedical imaging usually refers to the science of researching image composition, capture and storage technology, and the research and development of instruments and equipment. CD BioSciences has a variety of imaging equipment, which can visually describe and accurately measure the structure and function of living organisms across scales, provide imaging omics research methods for complex life science problems and major diseases, and facilitate panoramic research and analysis of biomedical science.
1. Microscope: This basic imaging system has an upright microscope (AXIO Scope A1) with transmitted (HAL) and UV (X-Cite) illumination sources. It can collect color transmitted light images (bright field and DIC) as well as conventional fluorescence images.
2. Objectives: The scope has 5×, 10×, 20× and 40× (air) and 100× (oil) objectives.
3. Camera: Zeiss Axiocam 305 Color. This system with the multi-chrome CCD camera is ideal for combining images obtained with two different techniques (DIC and fluorescence) or up to 4 different fluorescence channels.
4. Fluorescence Filters: Standard filter sets for imaging blue, green, red and far-red fluorophores.
5. Software: Zen software for capturing, processing and archiving of images.
6. Computer: The microscope is controlled via a HP Z240 computer with MS Windows operating system.
