Biological imaging is an important research tool for understanding tissue structure and elucidating the various physiological functions of living organisms. It uses light or electron microscopy to obtain direct images of the microstructure of biological cells and tissues, and the resulting images are analyzed to understand the various physiological processes of biological cells. CD BioSciences' Bioimaging Centre has dozens of devices and, more importantly, our expertise and experience are invaluable to the industries and clients we serve. We can provide LI-COR Odyssey CLx-based bioimaging services.
1. Two solid state diode lasers at 685 and 785 nm wavelengths allows for multiplex Western blot analysis.
2. Capable of total protein staining of transfer membrane prior to blocking. An industry standard in quantitative Western blot.
3. Higher sensitivity and a broader linear dynamic range of detection than traditional Western blot detection systems such as chemiluminescence (> 4 orders of magnitude).
4. Not limited to Western blotting, can also be used for:
1) protein detection (Coomassie stain)
2) nucleic acid detection (EMSAs, SYTO 60 gel staining)
3) microwell arrays (ELISA, protein arrays and RNAi analysis)
The LI-COR Odyssey CLx is an infrared (IR) imaging system for quantitative Western blot analysis using IR-tagged secondary antibodies rather than chemiluminescence or enzyme/substrate detection methods.
In recent years, with the development of optical imaging technology, especially the introduction of digital imaging and computer image analysis, bioimaging has become an indispensable method in cell biology research.
