Biological imaging is an important research tool for understanding tissue structure and elucidating the various physiological functions of living organisms. It uses light or electron microscopy to obtain direct images of the microstructure of biological cells and tissues, and the resulting images are analyzed to understand the various physiological processes of biological cells. CD BioSciences' Bioimaging Centre has dozens of devices and, more importantly, our expertise and experience are invaluable to the industries and clients we serve. We can provide Bruker/JPK NanoWizard Sense AFM & Nikon A1R Confocal-based bioimaging services.
AFM tips can be coated with various surface chemistries which can be used to study complex biological questions including receptor ligand interaction. The NanoWizard Sense+ is eequipped with PeakForce Tapping which provied high-resolution imaging while simultaneously providing nanoscale property mapiing. This insturment also has DirectOverlay abilities allowing AFM imaging to be used in conjunction with a Nikon A1R confocal to image biological specimens. Additionally AFM can be perfomred in conjuctions with widefield, TIRF and STORM microscopy.
The Bruker NanoWizard Sense+ is an Atomic Force Microscope that probes surface topography and investigates mechanical properties of cells such as stiffness.
