Microscope Imaging Service—Zeiss LSM 710

Confocal microscopy is an optical imaging technique that uses point-by-point illumination and spatial pinhole modulation to remove scattered light from the non-focal plane of the sample, allowing for improved optical resolution and visual contrast compared to traditional imaging methods. CD BioSciences, the imaging experts, can provide you with Zeiss LSM 710-based confocal microscopy imaging services.

Name of the Instrument/Platform

Zeiss LSM 710

Zeiss

Introduction

Additional software available at the MIF to further analyze data collected from the LSM includes the Fledermaus de-convolution program. This software allows the user to explore their collected data like a map. This software is also applicable to geological maps and scans.

Instrument Specifications
1. The LSM 710 is a state-of-the-art fully motorized upright confocal microscope.
2. In place of fixed emission filters this system employs a high sensitivity, low noise 32 channel PMT which allows freely tunable detection bandwidths and spectral imaging.
3. Up to ten channels can be simultaneously imaged.
4. An ultra-high precision motorized stage provides multi-point observation and high quality tile scanning for high resolution images of large fields of view.
5. The Zen2009 software provides an intuitive interface and includes a high-end 3-dimensional rendering package.
6. Transmitted light Differential Interference Contrast is also available.
7. Excitation Wavelengths (nm) :
1) 405
2) 458
3) 488
4) 514
5) 561
6) 633

Summary

The Zeiss laser scanning microscope (LSM) is a confocal light microscope that also uses helium/neon and argon lasers to image samples. The LSM can take a three-dimensional scan of samples, allowing the user to have a deeper understanding of how surface structure of their sample appears. Our LSM is equipped with a Zeiss Axiovert inverted microscope and a wide range of lenses including: Plan-Neo 1.25×, Plan-Neo 2.5×, Plan-Neo 5×, Fluar 10×, Fluar 20×, Plan-Neo 40×, and Plan-Neo 100× (oil immerision). The instrument accommodates five lenses at a time. Confocal microscopes use specific wavelengths of light to excite fluorescent molecules within a sample. Our Zeiss 510 uses the following lasers: 458/488 nm Argon, 543 nm HeNe (helium/neon), and a 633 nm HeNe.

CD BioSciences' Zeiss LSM 710-based confocal microscopy service is an ideal partner for cutting-edge biomedical research, providing precise 3D imaging, as well as accurate imaging of cell structure and dynamic processes, all in one package. If you are interested, please feel free to contact us.
