Zeiss LSM 510 META

Introduction

The Zeiss LSM 510 META is a laser-scanning confocal microscope based on the use of dichroic mirrors and optical filters with an additional META spectral imaging detector. It is capable of multiple channel fluorescence imaging using both conventional beam splitting optics and the spectral imaging system. The META detector can be used for linear unmixing of overlapping fluorescent stainings. Furthermore it has 2 conventional photomultiplier (PMT) detectors for fluorescence detection and an individual PMT for single channel transmission detection with suitable microscopic optics for DIC.

Feature Highlights

The system is based on Axiovert 200M inverted motorized microscope equipped with a small stage incubator for CO2 supply and temperature control. The Zen 2009 software fully controls the system allowing image acquisition. Applications include optical sectioning, colocalization studies, 3D imaging by Z-sectioning, time lapse imaging, photobleaching experiments, spectral detection and others.
