Biomedical imaging usually refers to the science of researching image composition, capture and storage technology, and the research and development of instruments and equipment. CD BioSciences has a variety of imaging equipment, which can visually describe and accurately measure the structure and function of living organisms across scales, provide imaging omics research methods for complex life science problems and major diseases, and facilitate panoramic research and analysis of biomedical science.
1. Microscope: The Applied Precision DeltaVision Microscope System I uses a standard Olympus IX-71 inverted microscope with a xenon arc lamp as the illumination source for exciting fluorophores from the UV to far Red. It can also collect transmitted light images (bright field and DIC). It has 20×, 40× (dry), 60× and 100× (oil) objectives.
2. Filter Sets: It contains the filter sets for imaging DAPI, Rhodomine, FITC, GFP, YFP and CY5 fluorophores.
3. Camera: Image capture is done with CoolSnap HQ2 high resolution CCD camera. It can be used for slow scan and high-resolution work of fixed samples and fast, high sensitivity image capture of live cell samples.
4. Software: The DeltaVision uses the acquisition software SoftWorx, which can automate the deconvolution computations and can generate 3D reconstructions.
5. Computer: Uses PC running Redhat Linux (Centos). Windows operate Instrument Controller.
